The songs refer to endless current situations and relationships which
deal with the world we life in. The themes aim at highlighting the importance of women in any given
society, as well as the problems that women still have to face despite the passing of generations: for
being mother and daughter, for talking and remaining silent, for laughing and crying, for being spiritual
and practical, for being beautiful, for being enigmatic, for being... a woman.

Djambadon
Ventilador Music 2002
Djambadon is one of the songs included in the album, chosen as a title because
of its dance value. Nino sums up in dance the good and the bad side of life, since, in Griot culture,
dance represents moments of joy or sadness. In this album, his messages are full of opposing feelings,
which make it a true account of life.
"(...) Nino Galissa has become a solid and exportable value... His afropop, with one foot in the roots and another in fusion, develops into a profusion of rhythms and polyphonies in which the Griot tradition, the soukous, rumba and reggae converge, mixing the crystal sounds of the kora with the guitar solos and the sound of the tama with the soft keyboards. (…) If Nino had been discovered in Paris … maybe we would already be talking about the new Mory Kante (...)" Ramón Surió -El Periódico- April 14th, 2003."
"(...) No doubt we find ourselves before a handful of tense and intense masterpieces of Mandinga pop many carats worth. Nino Galissa's progress is palpable. Excellent voice, good percussion, solid base, very well adjusted drums…" Mingus B. Formentor- La Vanguardia- June 14th, 2002.

N'Namolu
Ventilador Music 2000
In Mandinga, N'Namolu means "My People", first recording album dedicated
to Nino Galissa's family and people, after years without news from each other. Thus, in this album,
Nino Galissa, as a Griot, tells his family and people of the experiences and feelings throughout
all these years apart.
